012 A day at the beach

It's 2010. The summer is coming. Here are some Aruban influences for the Dutch Beaches.
Lush House!
Enjoy

011 Evolution

The concept of evolution has always grabbed my attention. A small part of my brain is always analysing everything from a evolutionary perspective. I still don't understand why, but that perspective brings peace of mind. Evolution is being judged from all angles, but there is no right and wrong on evolution itself.

When making music it's cool to see how quickly evolution is enriching my possibilities as a DJ. Remixing with tapes, using vinyl, using CD's, using memory sticks, using ableton. What more is to come? I just bought an iPad. Or iPatt as I like to call it. I got already some funny music apps going, but how cool would it be to have it fully integrated in my DJ set? Let's wait if evolution will bring me that. Or something better...

until then...

This is one of my favorite mixes in a long time. i hope you enjoy it.

010 Palladium Podium

A bit of techno, a bit of disco and a bit of superposition alchemy results in some dance floor palladium.

This is also an Ableton mix, but it was recorded live and had some adjustments done afterwards to master it for use on our website. I hope you enjoy this one.

Back in the studio

I've been spending quite some time in the studio lately. Expirimenting and learning to use new equipment: ableton with midicontrollers. And for those who don't habla: 100% laptop mixing. This isn't easy I can tell you. The step from vinyl to CD's had advantages and disadvantages. One of the bigger disadvantages is that you kinda lose control over your music collection. I had a bag with vinyl records with sleeves and notes and it was very easy to remember all the tracks. I never thought about it - at the time - how my mind stores all that data, but today I do and I find it extremely difficult. Today I don't even have a CD with a label on it. I just have bits and pieces (way too many of them) and an extremely crappy interface. It is unbelieveable how many laptop DJ's are out there and the market has not even provided them with the right tools. Anyway, it is still fun. It feels like a completely different approach to the same thing. I'm looking forward to hearing your feedback on what's coming.

009 My Main Motivation

We love this one. My Main Motivation get probably the most airtime of all superposition mixes due to its relaxed vibe.
